Waffles

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 4 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

  • 1-1/2 cups milk

  • 1/3 cup vegetable shortening

  • 1/3 cup butter

  • 2 large eggs, room temperature

Directions

  • In a small bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

  • In a medium bowl, add milk, shortening, and butter. If you do not have shortening, replace it with another 1/3 cup of butter (total 2/3 cup butter). Microwave until butter is nearly all melted.

  • Stir in the flour mixture until well mixed.

  • Add the eggs and mix. Do not over beat the eggs.

  • Pour into your waffle maker!
